• Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 5730 clone – check out that stylus. It’s a clear mark we’re talking about a clone here, as the original 5730 doesn’t have a touchscreen.
• Ferrari flip phone ripoff – this is far from being the first fake Ferrari-branded device. This time, however, we’re talking about a clamshell-shaped phone.
• Aston Martin mobile phone ripoff – this is new, as we’ve haven’t seen Aston Martin-branded phones in the past.
• Micky Mouse mobile phone ripoff – although it looks like your child’s next mobile, we urge you to skip the purchase.
• Winnie the Pooh mobile phone ripoff – similarly to Micky Mouse phone, this clone lacks quality.

With all the counterfeit mobile phones coming out of China, you’d think we’d be desensitized to tasteless cellphones by now. We wish that were true. Unfortunately, atrocities like this here Michael Jackson phone are hard to ignore. It’s decked out in fake gold, fake diamonds, and enough decorative homages to “The King of Pop” to offend the even tackiest gold-chain wearing rappers. To top it all off, the phone comes with a DVD of one of Michael Jackson’s live performances. We’ll leave it to you to decide if the DVD is legit or pirated.

If you’re thinking of picking up one of these Michael Jackson phones as a joke (we can’t imagine anyone wanting one for daily use), you’re going to have to find a way to import one from China. We have to admit, the phone would get some good laughs in our circle of friends.

Again we bring you the story about fake devices. Five models this time – all different, all 100% fake. Here they are:

• Lenovo (OTCPK: LNVGY) O1 clone – I’m not sure this is a clone at all. It looks quite legit, but you should be warned that this is the China only device at this stage and if you see it available for purchase elsewhere, it’s probably a fake.
• Another Transformers mobile phone ripoff – all-touchscreen model which proudly bears the Transformers logo on the back. No license fees were paid, as far as we know.
• Lamborghini clock mobile phone ripoff – it’s a clamshell, it’s a watch, it has a Raging Bull on the front, yet the quality is spotty, to say the least.
• Another Ferrari mobile phone ripoff – that numeric keypad which goes in circle is ridiculous for anything Ferrari branded, gotta admit.
• Snoopy mobile phone ripoff – this actually looks pretty cool. You can think of it as a perfect handset for children. Too bad it’s a clone.

Here’s what we got for you this week:

• Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM) 9500 clone – interesting – instead of the BlackBerry key, there’s the Home button. Screen is smaller, too.
• Mini Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N97 ripoff – mobile TV enabled Nokia N97 mini? Nah, there is no such thing. But there should be a QWERTY keyboard which this clone lacks.
• Nokia Batman mobile phone ripoff – this remote control-shaped device is “designed” for Batman and Nokia lovin’ suckers.
• Nokia N87 ripoff – there’s no such thing as the Nokia N87. Especially with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Period.
• Sony Ericsson (NYSE: SNE) Yari ripoff – Yari with an iPhone-like interface. Hmmm, I don’t think so.

Needless to say don’t buy any of these…

And we’re continuing our fake device series. We have 4 handsets to present this week and they are:

• Lamborghini mobile phone ripoff – certainly not the first Lamborghini-branded fake device we’ve seen. It’s fugly, as you’re about to see.
• Tag Heuer mobile phone clone – super cheap looking “version” of the original (and expensive) Tag Heuer handset.
• Rado mobile phone ripoff – I haven’t heard Rado has made a mobile phone. That, however, hasn’t stopped certain Chinese cloners pursuing their own “vision” of such a device.
• Decepticon mobile phone ripoff – robots are back. After seeing the Autobot phone, it’s time for some Decepticon action. Or is it?

As usual, it’s our duty to warn you not to be fooled into buying any of these. It’s not only a question of quality, but also of common sense…

We have five devices to present / warn you of in our “This week week in fake devices” post. Without further ado, here they are:

• Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E51 clone – looks quite real, though more plasticy.
• iPhone with full QWERTY ripoff – think of it as the Nokia E71 more than the iPhone.
• New Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM) clone – looks pretty decent. As I can recall there’s one HP device which looks like this.
• WALL-E mobile phone ripoff – all-touchscreen handset which seems to have S60-like icons. Is it a Symbian device? I doubt, but you never know.
• Touch Pro 2 clone – Looks pretty much identical, although icons on the buttons are gray, as opposed to white.

All of the devices mentioned come with a touchscreen (except the iPhone with full QWERTY ripoff), Bluetooth support, microSD memory card slot and so on. As usual, we must warn you of the spotty quality usually known for these kinds of phones. Avoiding buying them is your best bet…

Our “this week in fake devices” series continues. This time we bring you 4 clones which are “unofficially affiliated” with famous luxury brands. Here they are:

• Armani mobile phone ripoff - Star Trek-ish clamshell that actually doesn’t look that bad.
• Another Rolex mobile phone ripoff – Just because this phone has a watch at the top, that doesn’t make it look good, as you’ll see from the image bellow.
• Motorola (NYSE: MOT) AURA Rolex mobile phone ripoff – One more Rolex clone, which in this instance, borrows some lines from Motorola’s luxury side-slider.
• Cartier mobile phone ripoff – In a word – ugly! I don’t understand this – if you’re making a fake Cartier phone, at least make sure it looks decent, unlike this device.

This week we present you with three completely stupid clone phones. Here’s why I think so:

• Hummer mobile phone – there are two Hummer phones but they have that Hummer look and feel. This one, however, looks like a regular candybar with a simple Hummer sign, and that’s it. I doubt any Hummer owner would grab it.
• Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM) Windows Mobile phone – you wish… or not. Why anyone would put the BlackBerry logo here is beyond me. It’s super-obvious it’s fake.
• Wodafone Google (NSDQ: GOOG) mobile phone – Yap, that’s “W” and not “V” on this HTC Magic clone. If there were not for that “minor detail,” a regular person (i.e. not a phone freak like me) would be easily tricked into buying.

Again, under no circumstances buy any of the phones above. You’ll regret if you do…

And we keep covering the fake phones to help you avoid buying them. This week, we have 4 such handsets:

• Another Blackberry (NSDQ: RIMM) ripoff – it’s actually called NOKLAH9000 Nokia (NYSE: NOK) E71, but that hasn’t stopped the company behind this clone to add a BlackBerry logo and make it “look Bold.”
• Autobots mobile phone – Using a blockbuster movie to sell handsets (and other products for that matter) is not a new idea. And the same goes for doing so without paying the royalties.
• New Vertu clone – yet another Vertu Ascent wannabe. Gold color actually makes this clone look expensive, but it’s really cheap.
• Nokia N89 ripoff – NCKLA N89 is the real name of this device. Its back looks pretty much the same as the Nokia 6208C.

Again and again, I can’t emphasize this enough – don’t buy clone phones. You’ll regret it. Trust me…

Our series of presenting the latest work of Chinese handset makers cloners continues. Here’s what we got for you this week:

• HTC Touch HD clone – looks pretty identical to me, but that’s only until you start using it…
• Nokia (NYSE: NOK) N89i ripoff – actually it’s called NOKLA N89i and as you can see for yourself, it “borrows” few lines from the Nokia N97.
• Rolex mobile phone ripoff – it’s a clamshell with a big watch put on the place of the external screen. Super ugly!
• Nokia E68 ripoff – mobile TV ready device? It’s called NCKLA E68 and it also comes with a BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) button? Go figure.
• Goldvish 8808 clone – those not familiar should know that Goldvish makes uber-expensive phones, and the clone device doesn’t come even close. Plus it’s fugly.

It’s my duty to warn you not to buy any of the phones presented above and in the previous weeks. Quality is spotty to say the least, and the warranty you get with the purchase is as useful as GM shares these days…
